Black spotting on render is the most misunderstood of all the marks a wall carries, and it is worth explaining what it actually is. The dark speckling that appears across elevations, particularly on pale render, is a mixture of things. Some is algae in a later stage, where cells have died and darkened. Some is fungal growth, black yeasts and moulds that colonise alongside algae and produce heavily pigmented deposits. And a proportion is airborne pollutant, soot and particulate that has bonded into the texture and been held there by the organic material around it. That mixture is why black spotting behaves differently to green algae under treatment. The living component dies readily, but the pigment it produced does not disappear with it, and the bonded atmospheric element responds to wetting and rinsing rather than to chemistry. So a treated wall clears its green quickly and its black staining more slowly, generally fading over one to two weeks rather than going during the visit itself. Some of it is permanent. Where staining has been present for many years on an absorbent surface, pigment can penetrate deeply enough that no wash removes it entirely, and Pro Clean Xtreme says so at survey rather than after the invoice. The practical points are that black spotting always improves substantially, rarely disappears completely on older render, and returns more slowly than green algae once a wall has been properly treated. Properties in Witchford carrying heavy black staining are graded for it separately at survey, since it affects dwell, coverage and what can honestly be promised about the finish.
The temptation in this trade is to describe every outcome as transformative, and it is worth resisting that. Some things a treatment reliably does every time. Green algae goes. Moss and lichen die and weather off across the weeks following. Atmospheric grime lifts. The original colour of sound render returns, and on a wall that had gradually gone dull the change is genuinely striking. Some things it only partly does. Black staining fades substantially rather than vanishing, particularly where it has been present for a decade or more on absorbent render. Sheltered surfaces beneath overhangs improve but rarely match the washed wall below them. Areas around leaking rainwater goods clear and then recolonise faster than everything else, because the underlying cause remains. And some things it does not do at all, however it is applied. Faded pigment is not restored. Repairs in a different mix stay visible. Blasted sections stay shaded. Overpainted render that is failing does not improve, and cracking becomes clearer rather than less obvious. Setting all that out before a booking rather than after one costs a certain amount of work and avoids every unhappy conversation that follows an oversold result. So the survey describes each elevation individually: what will clear, what will improve, what will remain and roughly when the finished appearance will be visible, which for most walls is around two months rather than the same afternoon. Householders in Witchford therefore receive a written quotation and an honest description of the finish, and are welcome to hold both against the wall once the treatment has run its course.
Published ranges are useful and also a little misleading, because properties are not evenly distributed within them at all. Knowing where most quotations actually fall is rather more helpful. For semi-detached houses quoted between £400 and £620, the great majority land between £450 and £550. The bottom of the band is reserved for genuinely straightforward properties: modern low-porosity render, light algae, clear access on all sides, minimal planting and no outbuildings. The top is reserved for absorbent older render with established lichen, a conservatory, mature borders and a narrow side passage. Most houses have some of each. Detached properties quoted between £550 and £880 cluster around £620 to £740 for exactly the same reason, with the extremes of the band relatively rarely used. Terraced homes in the £280 to £430 band sit mostly between £310 and £380, since they usually present two elevations rather than four, and access on them is either good or awkward with very little in between the two. Single-storey buildings spread more widely across the £180 to £400 band, because that range has to cover everything from a single detached garage to a substantial bungalow with outbuildings attached. Anything quoted outside a band entirely is either three storeys, unusually large, unusually complex or carrying a second application, and each of those is stated in writing rather than absorbed quietly into a figure. Properties in Witchford are surveyed and quoted individually, and the reasoning behind the position within the band is explained at the time rather than left to be worked out from the number alone.
Remove years of dirt, grime, algae and staining for a cleaner, fresher finish.
Professional techniques designed to protect your surfaces while delivering outstanding results.
Keep your property looking its best with regular render cleaning.
Keep your property looking clean, fresh and well maintained with professional render cleaning in Witchford. Over time, rendered walls can become affected by algae, moss, dirt, staining and other environmental contaminants, leaving the exterior looking tired and discoloured. Our professional render cleaning service is designed to safely restore the appearance of rendered surfaces without causing unnecessary damage.
Airfields, flying schools, maintenance organisations and general aviation premises present render cleaning within a controlled environment where movement on the ground is as regulated as movement in the air. Access is the first consideration at every one of these sites. Airside areas require permits, escorting, briefing and adherence to the operator’s ground movement procedures, and equipment is not taken beyond a boundary without all of that arranged in advance. Landside buildings are more straightforward but frequently sit close enough to matter. Buildings vary widely: terminal and clubhouse premises, operations and control accommodation, maintenance hangars and workshops, fuel facilities, training rooms and staff accommodation, with rendered elevations across most of them. Soiling on these buildings reflects the environment closely. Elevations facing aprons and taxiways collect exhaust deposits, hydraulic misting and general grime alongside ordinary algae and lichen, so treatment addresses both the living growth and the bonded material. Practical controls are strict. Nothing is allowed to enter engine intakes, fuel installations or aircraft parking, exclusion zones are agreed with operations before mobilisation, and application ceases in wind conditions that could carry solution across an apron. High-visibility clothing, radio contact where required and immediate compliance with any instruction from the operator are all standard. Timing usually follows movement patterns, with early mornings, evenings and poor-weather days often the most workable windows. Documentation is issued ahead of mobilisation: risk assessments, method statements, COSHH data sheets, insurance certification and operative qualifications. Airfield and estates managers responsible for premises in Witchford can arrange a survey under escort, a written specification and a fixed price.

Lindsay and her colleague did a fantastic job on my home and for such a good price. Whilst I try my best to maintain cleanliness, as a dog boarder my home can quickly feel out of control and myself overwhelmed. Lindsay and her colleague literally made my house a home again in a fantastic clean standard. It feels like my home again and smells amazing. There was nothing they missed!! They were brilliant and I will be using them again.Posted on Google![]()

Thank you Mark and Callum for an excellent job done and a great result! I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone thinking of having their roof cleaned. They arrived on time, carried out the work very efficiently, were very friendly and courteous, worked hard and did a great clean up after a very dirty job removing a considerable layer of moss on my roof. Best of all they used a ‘cherry picker’ which meant no scaffolding or access towers and were able to reach every part of my roof to the highest point. Well done to you both.Posted on Google![]()

Excellent service and highly recommend. We had a large block paving patio completely cleaned and re-sanded and it looks brand new! Great communication and hard workers. Before and after photos added.
There is no fixed schedule as it depends on the property’s location, exposure and surrounding environment. Render that is shaded or surrounded by trees may require cleaning more frequently.
